Historical Places Conservation Drive at Sinhgad Conducted by NSS Unit

 A fort conservation drive was carried out at Sinhagad by the NSS Department of Kannada Sangha Pune’s Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce, on 5th January 2022. The NSS volunteers gathered at the fort and tried to understand the geographic details of the fort and then took immense efforts to spread awareness regarding conservation of forts and historical places by following a tagline “We must take care of our heritage”. They tried to spread awareness and explained the importance and ways to conservation of forts to the visitors at Sinhagad Fort through short one act plays. They collected the garbage lying on and around the fort, sorted it and cleaned the entire area, and also explained the significance of cleanliness as well as the moral and ethical importance of forts to the people around. 

In all, around 70 NSS volunteers actively participated in this activity. Principal Dr. Ashok Agrawal and Vice Principal Dr. Muckta Karmarkar motivated the students and were consistent in providing valuable support as well. NSS PO Prof. Nilesh Nemade, Ms. Sujata Bachhav, Dr. Anand Buddhikot helped and guided the students to successfully execute the motive of spreading awareness regarding Conservation of Forts. Students, teachers and altogether the entire Kaveri Team took immense efforts to bring such noble thoughts into reality.
