Project Model Exhibition at Kaveri College

To inculcate research culture among students Kaveri Research and Innovation Centre organized Project Model Exhibition on 9th January 2019. The exhibition was inaugurated by Dr.
Ashok.Agrawal, Principal, Kaveri College. Dr. Muckta Karmarkar, Vice-Principal, Kaveri College, Dr. Jayashri Bangali, Head, KRIC and coordinator B.Sc, Staff members and Students were present on the occasion.
The exhibition received an overwhelming response from the students. Exhibition included both research paper presentation and presenting project models. Students from BSc, M.Sc, BBA(CA), B.Com, BBA and BA took part in the exhibition. 6 research papers and 20 projects were presented.

The Students presented projects like Traffic Signal Control System, Metal Detector, Distance Measurement by using ultrasonic sensor, Analysis of Glare Effect of Lights. Dancing LED lights.Earthquake alarm, Electronic Eye, Wireless Car, Solar Mobile Charger. Blinking LED using Ardino Uno Board. Ardino Dc motor speed controller, Study of BSE lisited banks and its effect on the share price of bank etc.
The Project exhibition was a grand success and was appreciated by all.

One Day National Workshop in association with Bombay Stock Exchange Investor Protection Fund


Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce organised a One Day National workshop on Financial Planning, Market and Investors' Awareness'  in Association with Bombay Stock Exchange Investor Protection Fund on Saturday, 12th January 2019. The inauguration of the workshop was
done at the hands of Dr. N.S. Umarani, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU)Pune. Mr Kushal Hegde, President, Kannada Sangha, Pune, Mr. C. Vasudevan,  CGN, Head, BSE-IPS Limited, Mumbai, CMA Amit Apte, President, ICAICAMA, Kolkata and Mr. Sunil Kadam, Registrar, NISM, Navi Mumbai, Dr. Ashok Agrawal, Principal, Dr. Muckta Karmarkar, Vice Principal, Dr. Deepa Sathe, Coordinator, and Dr. Shweta Bapat, Organizing Secretory also graced the occasion. The workshop got special guidance from renowned CA CV Chitale, Member, Central Council ICAI, New Delhi, MrMukund Sabu and Mr.Neeraj Kapoor among other dignitaries.

In his welcome speech, Principal Dr. Ashok Agrawal spoke about the glorious achievements of Kannada Sangha Groups of Industry in the field of Education. He applauded the contribution of BSE-IPF in making people aware about financial management, investments in capital market etc.


In his inaugural speech, Dr. N.S.Umarani congratulated Kaveri College for organizing a relevant national workshop on the theme of financial planning and awareness. He said that the need of the hour is to co-create useful knowledge for the younger generation by teaching them Saint Tukaram, Isaac Newton and Amartya Sen simultaneously. Dr. Umarani said the students should also be taught three important things – Values, Economics and Science, because without them, no individual, no society and no country can think of affluence and prosperity. Dr. Umarani said that education is a scientific process of growing and one must invest in education and secure her/his life.

Mr. C. Vasudevan said that there are umpteen opportunities in Capital Market and BSE is creating more avenues by conducting such workshops through BSE’s Investor Monitory Fund. He said that BSE’s IPF will help students with research activities and also encouraged them to invest in capital market.

Renowned CA, Mr. C.V. Chitale gave the key note address which was
followed by various sessions based on topics such as Career and Income
Generation Opportunities in Stock Market, Mutual Funds
and Investors, Awareness about Personal Financial Planning, etc.
 
The workshop received tremendous response from the participants 
across the city and the State.

One Day Seminar on Career Opportunities in Banking and Finance



Kaveri College organized a seminar on Career Opportunities in Banking and Finance on 20 December 2018 for all BCOM, BA, BBA, BBA IB and BBA (CA) students.
Experts from PU’S Educational Services, Mumbai, guided the students about various career opportunities in Banking and Finance. Dr. Shweta Bapat, Co-ordinator, BBA commenced the seminar by welcoming the guests and introducing briefly about the purpose of the seminar. Dr. Ashok M. Agrawal, Principal, Kaveri College,felicitated Guest speakers Prof. Vinit Upadhyay and Dr. V. Aaditya Srinivas. Dr. Muckta Karmarkar, vice-Principal, teaching and non-teaching staff and students were present on the occasion.  Dr. Ashok M. Agrawal in his address introduced the guests and the audience about Kaveri Group of Institutes and also informed about the four centers of excellence viz. Kaveri Skill Development Center (KSDC), Kaveri Entrepreneurship Development Center (KEDC), Kaveri Research and Innovation Center (KRIC) and Kaveri Consultancy Cell (KCC).
Mr. Vinit Upadhyay, Asst. Professor, K. P.B. Hinduja College of Commerce, Mumbai, said that skills are important to cope up with the different challenges and opportunities in the competitive world. He cautioned the audience/students about the usage of the Internet and the threat it is posing to personal/ private information. He informed the student about different courses in ethical hacking Cyber Security He also stressed that insurance is a career field where there is huge potential for the youngsters. He assured the audience that certifications of PU in association with Kaveri College will be life changing for the students.
Dr. V. Aditya Srinivas, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Economist, BSE Brokers’ Forum mentioned that skill is nothing but application of knowledge. He said that courses at PU directly help students to get a job or start their own business in stock exchange. He stated that practical knowledge
about actual stock market operations, mutual funds, derivative markets etc.  is imparted to the students in these courses.
The seminar received huge response from the students. After the program many students asked queries to the experts.

Kaveri College celebrates the annual cultural extravaganza, Yuva-Spandan



The most awaited event of the year,Yuva Spandan was celebrated with great enthusiasm and fanfare. Dr. Ashok Agrawal,Principal,Kaveri College inaugurated the cultural extravaganza on 26th December
2018.  It began with a fabulous Traditional Day Celebration, Quiz and Mehendi Competition. The college campus was charged with excitement as students came in their best of traditional attires, participated enthusiastically in Quiz and Mehendi competition. 
A spectacular Retro Day was organized on the second day along with Rangoli Competition and Treasure Hunt Competition. 
 The participants had showed their creativity in their dressing styles and their accessories. Mad Adz competition was held on Friday, 28th December 2018 in A.V. Room. The students came out with interesting and innovative ideas and created advertisements for the products such as   flying chair, dragon fruit, feviquick, fairness cream, etc.
The most exciting Annual Social Gathering was held on and 30th Dec, 2018. Mrs. Indira Salian, Vice President, Kannada Sangha, Pune, Mrs. Radhika Sharma, Trustee, Kannada Sangha Pune, Dr. Ashok Agrawal,Principal, Dr. Muckta Karmarkar, Vice Principal, Prof. Sayee Kulkarni, Head, Cultural Committee were also present on the occasion. The audience was kept enthralled by mesmerizing performances by the students. 

Ms. Pradnya Desai was declared Miss Kaveri and Mr. Abhishek Kale was declared Mister Kaveri of the year. 

Special winter camp of NSS Unit of Kaveri College




The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce in association with Savitribai Phule Pune Univeresity organized the seven-day Special Winter Camp at Kasar Amboli, Tal. Mulshi, Dist. Pune from 10th December 2018 to 16th December 2018. The

theme of Special winter scheme was ‘Swachha va Swastha Bharath Abhiyan’. Mrs. Malati Kalmadi, Secretary, Kannada Sangha, Pune, presided over the function. The camp was inaugurated at the hands of Deputy Sarpanch, Kasar Amboli, Mr. Mahesh Mankar. Dr. Ashok M. Agrawal, Principal, Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Dr. Muckta Karmarkar, Vice Principal, Prof. Sachin Deokate, NSS Program Officer, Prof. Nilesh Nemade, Assistant Program Officer, along with other villagers, faculty members of the College and NSS Volunteers were present on this occasion. Total 50 NSS volunteers participated in the camp and rendered their service towards society with the motto 'Not Me But You'.
Various guest lecturers were arranged for the students. Resource persons Dr. Smita Patil, Block Development Officer class-1 Panchayat Samiti Mulshi, Mr. Sunil Jadhav, Extension Officer Panchayat, Col. Sarang Kashikar, Dr. Ashwini Deshpande and Mr. Sidharth Mehandle were invited and they conducted sessions for the students on topics like Rural Development, Functioning of Grampanchayat, Leadership skills and HIV /AIDS Awareness.The volunteers undertook various activities related to Environmental Awareness, Cleanliness Campaign, Plastic free village campaign, Health check-up drives and Tree maintenance during the seven days camp. They arranged haldi kumkum(social ceremony) programme for the women. They also conducted various activities for the students of Zilla Parishad School. The students visited the first Army School for girls', named Rani Laxmibai Military School. A special full day event for the 5th to 8th standard students of Zilla parishad school kasaramboli was conducted on 12th December in association with “Vidyan Vahini”. During this event various scientific experiments on Physics, Chemistry and Biology were demonstrated to each class by the Volunteers.

The Valedictory function was conducted on 16th December 2018. This function was presided by Principal Dr. Ashok M. Agrawal. Hon. Sarpanch Ms. Suvarna Sutar, Hon. Deputy Sarpanch Mr. Mahesh Mankar, Hon Mr. Sachin Dhumal member, Hon. Ms. Chaya Bhilare member, Hon. Ms. Kamini Shinde member, Hon. Mr. Rajaram Kashilkar Village Development Officer, Mr. Yashwant Sutar- Ex-Memeber Gram Panchayat and other members of Gram Panchayat, faculty members of the college and all NSS Volunteers were present on the occasion. The Gram Panchayat thanked the NSS team for their selfless service. Prof. Sachin Deokate, NSS Programme Officer shared his review and feedback on the various activities conducted at the camp. The Student Development Officer, Dr. Anand Buddhikot proposed the vote of thanks.
