“Swachh Bharat Abhiyan commenced in Kaveri College”

Kannada Sangha’s Kaveri College of Science and Commerce staff and NSS unit of the college conducted the Campus Cleanliness Drive on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti on 2^nd October, 2014.

Dr.S.B.Kharosekar, Principal, Mrs. Suchismita Mohanty, Vice-Principal, Mr. Anand Buddhikot, NSS Program Officer, Mrs. Manasi Joshi, NSS Assistant Program Officer, other staff members and students were present on this occasion.

In his introductory speech, Mr. Buddhikot explained the objective of the cleanliness drive. He also stated that this was an opportunity to all the Indians to fulfill the Swachh Bharat dream of Gandhiji.

The drive started with an inspirational and thought provoking address by Dr.S.B.Kharosekar, Principal of the College. He stated the importance of cleanliness in every one’s life. He also narrated the incidents of Gandhiji’s life related to the cleanliness campaigns. He said that it is the responsibility of all the Indians to keep India clean by devoting 2 hours weekly making 100 hours yearly exclusively for cleanliness of surroundings. He administered the Oath of Cleanliness and Oath of voting under the Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation for all the students and the Staff present on the occasion.   

The staff and students of the college did a big task of cleaning the college premises right from the College ground to the parking, office, staff room, examination room, NSS Room and passages of college building.
