Vocational Guidance Cell of Kannada Sangha’s Kaveri College of Science & Commerce arranged career guidance session on 23rd Aug, 2014 for commerce and Computer Science students.
In the welcome speech Principal Dr. S.B. Kharosekar explained the purpose for which the Vocational Guidance Cell is constituted by the college. He also gave information about various job opportunities available in different areas other than traditional areas in the changed scenario.
In the first session Prof. Dr. Hema Joshi, Ex vice Principal of Garware College of Commerce interacted with the commerce student on the topic “Upcoming Opportunities for Career in Commerce”. Marketing, Insurance, Banking, Animation, Financial analyst, Personal Finance Management , port folio management , Market research, Event management were some of the opportunities focused by her apart from Chartered Accountant, Cost accountant and Company secretary. She also shared information about various career opportunities available in I.T. field for commerce students. She answered the students’ queries and told students to update knowledge with changing scenario.
Second session was conducted by Prof. Shantanu Vyas on the topic “Internship and Career Opportunities in Computer” for students of Computer Science. He told that career opportunities are available to Graduates from Computer Science in the area of Research, Information Technology and various industries. He focused that students must acquire various skills like analytical skill, communication skill, technical skill and leadership skill with etiquettes and manners to face the competition in the market.
For these sessions, students were present in large number and got their queries satisfied. Prof. Pallavi Joshi, Head, Vocational Guidance Cell gave introduction. Prof. Geetanjali Pitre compeered the session and Prof. Yogeshwari Dannak proposed vote of thanks.
