“NSS Activities commenced in Kaveri College”

The inauguration of the National Service Scheme of Kannada Sangha’s Kaveri College of Science & Commerce for the academic year 2014-15 took place at the hands of Principal Dr. S.B.Kharosekar in the college on 15^th Aug, 2014. Mrs. Suchismita Mohanty, Vice Princi

pal, Prof. Anand Buddhikot, NSS Programme Officer, Mrs. Manasi Joshi, Assistant Programme Officer, staff members and students were present on the occasion.

The inauguration of the programme commenced with lighting of the lamp followed by playing the NSS song. Mr. Anand Buddhikot, in his introductory speech, gave information about objectives and activities under NSS. He also emphasized on the personal and social development of a NSS Volunteer through his /her participation in NSS.

Dr. S.B.Kharosekar said in his speech that ,” National Service is the one which is self- motivated, self disciplined and which is done with great dedication.” He further added that the NSS unit must work in the fields such as disaster management, child labour, road safety and eradication of illiteracy. He also recited the Oath of National Service Scheme to the teachers and volunteers. The NSS Volunteers Mr. Sahil Kelkar and Mr. Deepak Unecha shared their experiences on this occasion.

Assisitant Programme Officer Mrs. Manasi Joshi thanked all present for the function and Mrs. Yogeshwari Dannak did the compere work. The programme ended with Vande Mataram.
