Soft Skills Development Workshop for First Year Students conducted in Kaveri College


Kannada Sangha’s Kaveri College of Science & Commerce conducted a 6 days Soft Skills Development workshop from 24th Nov, 2014 to 29th Nov, 2014 for all FY students of BCA, BBA, B.Sc.(CS),B.Com and BA. The workshop was inaugurated at the hands of Mrs. Malati Kalmadi, Secretary, Kannada Sangha. She informed the students about ‘Kaveri Kalaangan’ and appealed the students to know, imbibe and explore life skills Dr.S.B.Kharosekar, Principal, Kaveri College quoted the importance of the seven soft skills and emphasized that Quality Work is the beauty of an individual.  Eminent Speakers like Corporate Trainers, Management Consultants and Soft Skills Trainers shared their expertise on various topics.

Dr.S.G.Bapat conducted a session on ‘Challenges of 21st Century’, ‘Leadership and Team Building’ and Personality Development for the participants. Mr. A. M. Joshi conducted a session on the topic ‘Motivation’. Ms. Amna and Ms. Trisha interacted with students on ‘Communication and Public Speaking’.  Ms. Vaijayanti Thakar conducted the session and guided ‘Creativity and Innovation’. All these sessions were full of activities, management games and exercises which kept the students excited throughout the workshop.

On 29th Nov, 2014, in the valedictory programme, Mrs. Indira Salian, Vice-President, Kannada Sangha, said that values like forgiveness, innocence and love are vital in making life peaceful and happy. Dr.S.G. Bapat, Head, S.G. Bapat and Associates, Dr. S. B. Kharosekar, Principal, Mrs. Suchismita Mohanty, Vice- Principal and Mrs. Deepa Sathe, Co-ordinator of SSDP Committee were also present for the occasion.

Participants expressed their feedback through a power point presentation. They shares the way in which this workshop changed their mindset and attitude towards their life.  They thanked Kaveri College for conducting the workshop.

Ms. Deepa Sathe proposed the vote of thanks. The programme ended with recital of “Vande Mataram”.
