Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce arranged a One Day Women’s Personality Development Workshop





Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce arranged a one day workshop on ‘women’s personality development’ on 19th Dec, 2015 in association with Student welfare sectiojn of SPPU. The topic of the workshop was “Stress management and diet”. The workshop was inaugurated at the hands of Mrs. Radhika Sharma, Trustee Kannada Sangha.  Dr. S. B. Kharosekar, Principal, Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Prof. Varsha Todmal – Member, Manashakti Kendra & HOD, Department of Marathi, Garware College, Mrs. Chitra Alavani, Student Welfare Officer of the college, Staff Members and the girl students were present for the workshop.
Dr. Kharosekar gave introduction about the workshop and shared tips for stress management. Mrs. Radhika Sharma told the students to do exercise daily and follow healthy diet regularly.
In the first session Prof. Varsha Todmal gave guidance about management of stress through yoga and spirituality.  She also shared with the students that Stress is part of life and changes with situation to situation. The successful people manage the stress properly. Unmanaged stress disturbs physical and psychological wellness of the Individual.
Mr. Ashish Gavade , Sadhak of Manshakti Kendra, Lonavala, guided students about “Manashanti”. He explained the concept ‘Dhyana’ as thoughtless stage of mind and gave suggestion to students to concentrate on breathing.  He explained with audio visual aids that with ‘Dhyana’, one can achieve the goals of his life. In the third session Mrs. Pooja Kulkarni, Dietician guided students about “Diet” with audiovisual aids. She told students to do exercise daily and follow proper diet.

The workshop received an overwhelming response from the girl students of the college. Ms. Bhakti Dandekar compeered and Ms. Chitra Alavani proposed the vote of thanks.

Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce has organized Yuva Spandan, a Cultural extravaganza from 27th December 2015 to 29th December 2015.  It is an inter college event. The details of the events are:

Inauguration of the Special Winter Camp of Kaveri NSS Volunteers



Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce has arranged Special Winter Camp of NSS Volunteers from 18th Dec, 2015 to 24th December, 2015 at Kasar Amboli, Tal. Mulshi, Dist. Pune. The camp was inaugurated with saraswati pujan and deep prajwalan on 18th Dec, 2015 at the hands of the Dr. S.B. Kharosekar, Principal, Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce in the presence of Mr. Anand Buddhikot, NSS Programme Officer, Mr. Sachin Deokate, Asst. Program Officer, Mrs. Meena Shinde, Sarpanch of the village and Mr. Umesh Sutar, Upasarpanch. Mrs. Shraddhali Sutar, Member, Grampanchayat, Mrs. Suvarna Sutar, Mrs. Chhaya Bhilare, Mrs. Kamini Shinde, Mr. Shekhar Shinde, Mr. Sachin Dhumal  along with other villagers, faculty members of the college and all NSS Volunteers were also present at the occasion.  

Mr. Buddhikot welcomed the dignitaries and all others present for the inauguration function and explained the purpose of the camp.  Dr. S. B. Kharosekar congratulated villagers for non-addiction as a achievement of the village. He said that the main objective of camp is giving the opportunity to urban students to experience the rural lifestyle and learn values like equality and co-operation. He assured the villagers that Kaverians will definitely contribute in development of the village.
While addressing to the students the Mr. Mohan Shinde, Member, Grampanchayat, praised the work done by NSS volunteers in the last years camp. He appealed the volunteers to create awareness among the villagers regarding separation of wet and dry waste. NSS Volunteer, Miss. Pratiksha Sutar compeered and proposed vote of thanks. Mrs. Sneha Govande proposed the vote of thanks. The program ended with the recital of Vande Mataram.

Film Festival held at Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce



Kaveri Film Festival was organized by Faculty of Arts in Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce during 14th to 17th December 2015. The Film Festival was inaugurated by Principal Dr. S. B. Kharosekar on 14th December 2015. The Film Festival is the brain child of Arts Co-ordinator Dr. Muckta Karmarkar, who was also present for the inauguration program. In his inaugural address Principal Dr. S. B. Kharosekar appreciated the idea of organizing Kaveri Film Festival by Dr. Muckta Karmarkar and her team. He also announced that Film Festival will be a regular activity in the coming years.  A Beautiful Mind, Jobs, Cast Away and To Sir With Love these films were showcased in the Kaveri Film Festival.  Each film screening was followed by an activity conducted by teachers.  A Beautiful Mind screening was followed by a memory game conducted by Ms. Purva Dhaigude on 14th Dec 2015, while Ms. Shweta Bhagat discussed the entrepreneurial skills after the screening of Jobs on 15th Dec 2015. Our former student Mr. Rohit Kulkarni conducted a ‘Survival Workshop’ followed by the screening of Cast Away on 16th Dec 2015. Our last film To Sir With Love was very much appreciated by the students because they could connect to it instantly. The screening was followed by discussion on social, cultural and linguistic differences in American, British and Indian English conducted by Mrs. Priya Deshmukh.  Valedictory function took place on 17th Dec, 2015 after the screening of the film. Principal Dr. S. B. Kharosekar, Arts Co-ordinator Dr. Muckta Karmarkar, and other faculty members were present for the same. The valedictory program was compeered by S.Y. B. A student Ms. Sushmita Sumant.
