Birth Anniversary Celebration of Mahatma Gandhiji and Shri. Lal Bahadur Shastriji on 2nd Oct,2022.

 

Birth Anniversary of “Father of the Nation”- Mahatma Gandhi and the second Prime Minister of India who brought about the Green Revolution and the White Revolution in the country, and raised the slogan "Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan"- Shri. Lal Bahadur Shastri were celebrated with great enthusiasm by the NSS volunteers at Kannada Sangha’s Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Pune under NSS Department. On account of the 153rd birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, on 1st October,2022, the volunteers of the college conducted a cleanliness drive in and around the Parvati hill. During this cleanliness drive, the students collected the waste and sorted it and contributed their efforts.

A special lecture on "Gandhi's Dream of Independent India'' was organized for the students on 2nd October,2022. Mr. Sandeep Barve- State Executive and Social Worker of Union of Ukraine, Maharashtra was invited as the keynote speaker on this occasion. He presented Mahatma Gandhiji's dream of an independent India to the students by sharing various remarkable aspects of Gandhiji's life. He briefed the students about the social revolution he made by taking inspiration from Mahatma Gandhi's Guru Mr. Gopal Krishna Gokhale. After this lecture, a film based on the life of Shri. Lal Bahadur Shastri was shown to students. All volunteers participated in large numbers on this occasion. Principal Dr. Ashok Agarwal and Vice-Principal Dr. Mukta Karmarkar gave their valuable guidance from planning to execution of this event.

On this occasion, students got precious support and guidance from  Dr. Jayashri Bangali- Head of Student Welfare Board of the college, Dr. Anand Buddhikot, NSS Program Officer Prof. Nilesh Nemade and Assistant Program Officer Prof. Sujata Bachhav. The program was compered by Prof. Sujata Bachhav whereas Prof. Suvarna Sabnis presented the Vote of Thanks.

NSS Foundation Day Celebrated by NSS Unit of Kaveri College

 

NSS Department of Kannada Sangha’s Kaveri Arts, Science and Commerce College celebrated the NSS Foundation Day, on 24 September 2022, with great enthusiasm. Student Volunteers celebrated this day by voluntarily cleaning the grounds and premises of the college, spreading the message of cleanliness. Program Officer of NSS Department Prof. Nilesh Nemade, Assistant Program Officer Prof. Sujata Bachhav and all NSS volunteers participated in this cleanliness drive.     On this occasion a special lecture on "Role of NSS in Development of Social and Human Ethical Values" was organized for the students. Dr. Shivaji Pacharane-District Coordinator of NSS Department was invited as the guest speaker. Principal Dr.Ashok Agarwal and Vice-Principal Dr.Mukta Karmarkar graced the occasion with their presence. Prof. Sujata Bachhav compered the program and in her address she explained the importance, concept and motivation behind NSS Day to the students.     On the occasion of NSS Foundation Day, resource person motivated the students for social work. Chief Guest Dr. Shivaji Pacharane, while interacting with the students, introduced the concept of 'National Service Scheme’ as 'Education and Service'. He explained the significant role of social work done through NSS in all round development of a student by giving different examples. He explained in detail what a volunteer should learn through various surveys and activities conducted in NSS and how one must apply these things in day to day life. He also briefed the students about various activities, schemes and camps conducted by the NSS department at the college, university level. Prof. Sujata Bachhav presented the Vote of Thanks.
