Report of Two Days University Level Workshop On ‘Syllabus Implementation of CBCS 2019 Pattern for S.Y.B.Sc. (Computer Science) Electronics Subject’


Kannada Sangha Pune’s Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce in association with Board of Studies (Electronics) SPPU organized an online ‘Two Days University Level Workshop’ on ‘Syllabus Implementation of CBCS 2019 Pattern for S.Y.B.Sc. (Computer Science) Electronics Subject’ on 18 and 19 June 2020. The syllabus implementation of paper I, II and III of Electronics subject of S.Y.B.Sc. (Computer Science) was discussed in the workshop.
Hon. Dr. M.G. Chaskar, Dean Science and Technology, SPPU was the Chief Guest for the inauguration function of the workshop. Prof. Dr. D.C.Gharpure, Chairman BOS( Electronics) SPPU, was the Guest of Honor and Prof. Dr. A.D.Shaligram, Ex-Dean, Science and Technology,SPPU & Ex-HoD, Electronics Sci. Dept., SPPU was the special invitee for the inauguration function. Dr. Ashok Agrawal, Principal, Kaveri College welcomed the dignitaries and briefed about the college. Dr. M.G. Chaskar inaugurated the workshop and congratulated the organizers for taking initiative and organizing the online workshop. Dr. Gharpure and Dr. Shaligram addressed the participants and emphasized on the online teaching and E-content development. Dr. Muckta Karmarkar, Vice-Principal attended the inauguration function and graced the occasion.
Senior and experienced faculty members of Electronics subject from various colleges were the Resource Persons for the workshop namely Mrs. Archana Bendale, Dr. Medha Misar, Prof. Prachi Sane, Dr. Jayashri Bangali, Mrs. Swati Diwatankar, Mrs. Jyoti Shotre, Dr. M. Shaikh, Dr. Sapna Rane, Dr. Varsha Bapat, Dr. Deepa Ramane, Mr. Deepak Kumbhar and Mr. Sunil Mahajan. 8 units of Paper I and II were divided into eight resource persons. They explained scope of the topic and number of lectures required for each unit in detail. Dr. Ramane and Dr. Bapat explained the expectations of each practical, how to conduct practical and number of lectures required for the practical.
The PPTs of all the Resource Persons in pdf format was shared with all the participants. Mr. Sunil Mahajan and Mr. Ghate explained the virtual lab concept and simulation using Circuit Mode software.  Resource Persons solved all the queries of the participants which they had put in the chat box. The E Certificates were issued to all the participants and the resource persons. The online feedback form was mailed to all the participants. All the participants were happy and satisfied with the overall conduct of the workshop as all the sessions were very informative and interactive.

These sessions were recorded on Google Drive. The workshop was organized on online platforms Zoom and Google Meet. Total 177 Electronics faculty members from various colleges registered for the workshop.
Dr. Jayashri Bangali, Coordinator, B.Sc.(Com.Sci.) shouldered the responsibility as the Coordinator of the workshop. Mrs. Chitra Alavani worked as Organizing Secretary of the workshop. Dr. Anand Buddhikot assisted the Coordinator in organization of the workshop.

Report on Nation Building Activities by the students of Kaveri College during the lockdown


While the Corona crisis was looming over the world, the students of Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce took advantage of the available time they got during the lockdown period. Students undertook several activities and boosted the confidence of different sections of society. They created a vision of social consciousness and humanity through many socially useful activities. During this period, the students have come forward on their own to help the weaker sections of the society and the administration. 
Under this initiative, students created self-explanatory PPT/videos based on various topics such as Arrays, Pointers, searching algorithm, linked list, stack, and queue. Students also participated in mask making activity. Students who were good in art have prepared videos of that art such as origami, mehendi and drawings also spread it through social media.
Students have helped police, doctors, nurses who were working as direct and indirect covid warriors and saluted them. Students have taken the interview of such covid warriors and prepared its video in which they have shared their experiences about working during the lockdown. 
 College Students have created various videos for school children based on interesting animation, guidance on foreign languages like German, French and Chinese etc, mental health during the lockdown, how to take care of the elderly, how to protect oneself and one's family from corona, best out of waste, cyber security, Yoga Practice etc.
Students have also prepared the documents on the topics like Quantitaive Aptitude, verbal aptitude, reasoning/ analytical aptitude, Java etc. for placement preparation. Along with this student have created quiz and blogs are also written by them on the topics like Degree Vs. Skill sets and various career opportunities.
The students have created Audio Books and  written short stories and poems based on the pandemic They have also prepared case studies on the topics like SBI,TCS, Swiggy, Automobile sector, Cure Fit etc. and have researched commerce related topics including problems of small entrepreneurs/vendors during lockdown, stock market scenario, stock trading perspective, Role of RBI, future of mutual funds, business opportunities after lockdown, the study of various smartphone applications for safety awareness, mental and physical health awareness-role and responsibility, the role of television media, impact of Covid 19 on economic and psychological aspects and so on.
A survey on the topic, ‘A Study of Impact of Covid 19 on Stakeholders of Education Sector’ was also conducted to understand the impact of the pandemic on different stakeholders of the education sector and also to understand the initiatives taken by these stakeholders to minimise the negative impact. Another survey on the topic, ‘A Study of pros and cons of work from home style of working was also conducted to identify and understand the implementation of work from home system and to study advantages and disadvantages of this system. These surveys received a huge response. 
Principal Dr. Ashok Agarwal, Vice- Principal Dr. Muckta Karmarkar and other professors encouraged and guided the students for this initiative. Parents, Covid Warriors and society, in general, have appreciated and praised the activities done by the students.
Mr. Kushal Hegde, President Kannada Sangha and Secretary Mrs. Malati Kalmadi have also appreciated and congratulated these commendable initiatives by the students.
