FDP for ‘Understanding the Budget : 2022’

 

Kaveri College of Arts, Science & Commerce has organized the FDP on topic of “Understanding the Budget:2022”. The workshop was guided by Prof. Ms.Suchismita Mohanty, Coordinator- BA and Professor Ms.Saloni Joshi. They both gave brief introduction of Union Budget 2022. They both explained the process of budgeting and how it happens in different stages in a very simple and interesting way. They elaborated the factors required for the budget preparation, various tax revenues and possible expenditures for different sectors, provision for emergencies. Along with this technical information, the secrets, the printing process, the Halawa Ceremony, the pre-independence to post-independence budget, the journey from the briefcase to the Indian-made tablet were interestingly described through the presentation. 


Principal Dr. Ashok Agrawal, in his speech, said that while explaining the budget, one should know the trend of the budget without stopping only at what items have become more expensive and cheaper. Vice Principal Dr. Mukta Karmarkar was present for the Sessions. All professors and non-teaching staff of the college took active participation in the FDP.


131st Birth Anniversary of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar was Celebrated by NSS Unit of Kaveri College

 


Kannada Sangha Pune’s Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce celebrated the 131st birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar on 14th April, 2022 under the NSS Unit. Shri Jagdish Ohal was invited as the keynote speaker. All dignitaries, staff members and students paid tribute to the image of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. Principal Dr. Ashok Agrawal on this occasion, briefed about the erudition of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, the sculptor of the Indian Constitution. On account of Mahavira Jayanti, he also summarized teachings of Lord Mahavira on non-violence, equality and peace. 


The chief guest Shri. Jagdish Ohal made the younger generation aware of the future of India. He said that anniversaries of great leaders should be celebrated mainly in colleges. Many important events in the life of Dr. Babasaheb and his passion for learning, his inquisitive attitude and his contribution for the progress of the country were presented in his speech.


The occasion was attended by a large number of faculty, non-teaching staff and student volunteers of the college. NSS Program Officer Prof. Nilesh Nemade coordinated the program. Prof. Suvarna Sabnis compered the program and Prof. Sunil Waghmare gave a vote of thanks.

Kaveri College won "Keshavsut Smruti Karandak"


Students of Kannada Sangha Pune’s Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Ms. Renuka Kotharkar (FYBA) and Ms. Kalyani Goswami (FY BCOM) have won the third prize in “Keshavsut Smruti Karandak”, a State Level Self-composed Poetry Competition jointly organized by Board of Student Development, Savitribai Phule Pune University and Saraswati Mandir Night College, Pune. Kaveri College’s students received a dazzling trophy, cash prize, books and certificates.


In the poem ‘Rangabhumi’ by Renuka Kotharkar, she explained the relationship between the 'theater' and the artist, while Kalyani Goswami showed the first love that could not be expressed in the poem 'Avyakt'. They both received trophies, cash prizes, books and certificates. 


Principal Dr. Ashok Agrawal, Vice Principal Dr. Muckta Karmarkar, teachers and students at Kaveri heartily congratulated both the students for their achievement. And expressed to be feeling immensely proud about them.









Women’s Day 2022 : Women's Empowerment and Challenging Barriers An Experience Sharing


Kannada Sangha Pune’s Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce, in association with SkillSlate Foundation had organized an international conference on the occasion of Women's Day on 8th March 2022, on the topic- Women's Empowerment and Challenging Barriers-An Experience Sharing.

Mr. Ameya Agrawal-Founder SkillSlate Foundation welcomed everyone and briefed about the basic motive of organizing this session. Dr. Jayashri Bangali talked about the significance of Women’s Day. Principal Dr. Ashok Agrawal virtually welcomed all the dignitaries. Mr. Kushal Hegde- President, Kannada Sangha, wished all the women a Happy Women’s Day, and expressed gratitude towards everyone for their presence. 

Dr. Jayashri Bangali briefly introduced the Chief Guest of the programme- Dr. Vinitha Guptan- Vice Chancellor, Saito University College, Malaysia. Dr. Vinitha very graciously began the session by narrating the story of her life in exceptional style and manner. She shared how she faced adversities and hurdles in life and how she overcame them. She insisted on indulging a thinking in the audience that “what comes to me, belongs to me”. She also emphasized on the fact that we live in a society and we have to walk with everyone, rather we need everyone who comes in our life and we must learn to make best use of every possible person and circumstances. She focused on the idea that with proper will power, determination, and social support, one can easily achieve the desired goals. She inspired and motivated the women to keep going in all kinds of circumstances by sharing her experiences in this session.

Guest of honor, Dr. Meena Rajesh- Vice Chancellor, G.H. Raisoni University, Saikheda(MP) shared her experiences regarding personal life as well as career making journey and left the listeners awestrucked with her achievements. She majorly talked about the barriers women face in multidimensional ways in many aspects as well as the perceptions about the women the society beholds. She expressed that the barriers and adversities in her life made her more strong and capable. She mentioned that she feels immense satisfaction and happiness while looking back to her successful journey from mere Assistant Professor to Vice Chancellor. She concluded with a very remarkable statement: “Change the changeable, Accept the unchangeable, And Remove yourself from unacceptable.”

Guest of honor,Professor Dr. Jaskiran Kaur- Pro Vice Chancellor, Lingaya’s Vidyapeeth, Haryana talked briefly about her experiences while studying, her first job in Singapore, Family Balancing, etc. She also talked about financial issues, time management skills, support systems, and many more things one has to think about while on a journey towards success. She inspired everyone by sharing her exceptional and remarkable journey.

Guest of honor, Kakoli Sen- Pro Vice Chancellor, IILM University, Gurgaon, very persistently mentioned that there is no need to empower women as women are already the basic source of power, they possess all the strength within, and that there is only the need to support and appreciate them from time to time as it becomes little unmanageable for women to get everything done perfectly at a time single handedly. She also said that it's amazing to see women making their identity in all the existing fields and they do not lack in anything. 

Mr. Lalit Gandhi- President, MACCIA, Mumbai, guest of honor appreciated all speakers for their unique way of dealing with adversities and successful achievements and experience sharing. He insisted that the existence and efficiency of women should not be celebrated just for a day but for the entire year and all the time. He talked briefly about Gender perspectives in education and other efficiently sensible topics. He emphasized the fact that changing the mindsets of men as well as of women is necessary to bring about more reform in empowering women and their success. 

Mrs. Malatii Kalmadi, Secretary,Kannada Sangha, expressed that she felt overwhelmed with the session taken by all the speakers, she thanked everyone for their remarkable experience sharing and appreciated the huge response by the audience to the session organized on the occasion of Women’s Day. Dr. Jayashri Bangali proposed a vote of thanks towards the speakers, guests, dignitaries and audience of the first session of the program.

In the second session,Ms.Pallavi Joshi introduced and welcomed the Guest of honor for the technical session- Ms. Vasanti Joshi-Assistant Professor SNDT College, Pune. She mentioned that Ms. Vasanti has traveled 4500+ kms on cycle from Kanyakumari to Leh, which is very exceptional and indeed an unique achievement. Ms. Vasanti began her session by talking about the history and origin of International Women’s Day. She expressed immense satisfaction for the fact that nowadays women are not lacking behind in any single field and have managed to make their identity on every possible platform just like men, rather a step ahead of men. Throughout the session, she shared the needed information and adventurous  as well as thrilling experiences of her prior journeys executed successfully on cycle which ranged from Himalayas, Narmada Parikrama, Pune to Kanyakumari, Kanyakumari to Leh, etc. She also expressed gratitude and informed the audience about the Jigar Club and Cycle Pratishthan for their consistent co-operation and support. She very fondly emphasized on breaking the bias. She made the session very informative, motivating and enlightening for women. 

Mr. Sudhakar Rao- Trustee, Kannada Sangha, Pune and Vice Principal Dr. Muckta Karmarkar graced the occasion with their presence. Ms. Pallavi Joshi proposed a vote of thanks towards the guests, hosts, audience. It was indeed a successful event which was attended by hundreds of participants on the platform of zoom as well as youtube live.    



“National Science Day” Celebration at Kaveri College



National Science Day was celebrated with great interest and enthusiasm at Kannada Sangha Pune’s Kaveri College of Arts,Science and Commerce, on 28th February 2022, on an online platform. Mr.Sharad Pustake-President: Foundation for Interdisciplinary Research, Executive Director: Shikhar Outward Bound Institute, Advisor and Mentor: Kshiti CleanTech Pvt. Ltd served as a chief guest and resource person to this session. Dr. Jayashri Bangali- BSc Co-Ordinator  welcomed all. She briefed the students about the huge contribution of Dr. C.V. Raman in the field of science and emphasized on the Raman Effect. Principal Dr. Ashok Agrawal and Vice Principal Dr. Muckta Karmarkar  graced the occasion with their presence.


Resource speaker, Mr.Sharad Pustake introduced students with the immense significance of inventions in day to day life. He emphasized on how one can actually implement science in terms of making new inventions rather than just theoretically studying it. He smartly expressed the need of study, data collection, surveys and invention in areas of natural calamities, traffic, senior citizens’ issues, problems of farmers, smart city complications, parking issues, etc and very remarkably explained the students giving very logical, catchy, and striking examples on how and where is the real need of exceptional inventions and what is an appropriate direction to work in for progress of country in terms of science leading to convenience. 


All the teachers and students from Kaveri College actively participated in huge numbers in this session. Dr. Anand Buddhikot- compered  the program, as well as presented a vote of thanks towards everyone for making it a successful event. 


“Marathi Rajyabhasha Din" Celebration at Kaveri College


 

NSS Unit of Kannada Sangha Pune’s Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce celebrated Marathi Rajyabhasha Diwas on 27th, February 2022, with great pride and enthusiasm. On the occasion of Marathi Rajyabhasha Diwas, a webinar on the topic- “Importance of Marathi Language” by Prof. Vrushali Deodhar was organized on an online platform. 


Prof.Deodhar spoke voraciously regarding marathi language, its origin, significance and efficiency. She mentioned that Marathi stands on 10th rank among the languages in the entire world. She also briefed the students that Marathi Bhasha Din is celebrated on February 27 every year. The day marks the birth anniversary of renowned Marathi poet Vishnu Vaman Shirwadkar, who was popularly known as 'Kusumagraj'. Kusumagraj was an eminent Marathi poet, playwright, novelist, short story writer, and humanist. The day is celebrated to honor Marathi literature. The Marathi language contains some of the oldest literature of all modern Indo-Aryan languages. She also emphasized the fact that Marathi is truly a very accessorized, self-sufficient and beautiful language and one must possess immense pride and honor while using that language in day to day life. She also insisted that there is a need that today’s generation is taught to use this language appropriately as it's being  seen as getting polluted, infected and adulterated with the touch of modernism and lack of proper knowledge. She also threw light on the significance and need of indulging and practicing reading habits in order to enhance language skills in everyone. 


Dr. Muckta Karmarkar- Vice Principal, Other Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff at Kaveri College, and students participated in large numbers and attended this session with great interest and enthusiasm. NSS PO Prof. Nilesh Nemade did the compering for the session as well as presented a vote of thanks.


“NSS Unit of Kaveri College has donated floor carpet to Zilha Parishad School at Kasar Amboli”

 The NSS Unit of Kannada Sangha Pune’s, Kaveri College of Arts, Science & Commerce  visited Zilha Parishad School at Kasar Amboli and donated floor carpets (Sataranji) on Thursday, 24th February,2022. Many social activities and initiatives are being practiced by the NSS Unit of Kaveri College. Funds were collected mutually from the staff and students at Kaveri College.


Principal Dr. Ashok Agrawal inspired the students with his speech saying that everyone must be well aware of their social responsibility and should try to be grateful in life. He appreciated immense efforts taken by the teachers and administration even in the covid times for the betterment of students. He also briefed everyone, telling about how the Team Kaveri has successfully conducted programs like Tree Plantation, Public Awareness and Cleanliness Drive, Surveys, Academic Skills Enhancing, etc for Kasar Amboli villagers and students at Zilla Parishad School.


Principal of the Zilla Parishad School, Teachers, Sarpanch of Kasar Amboli Village, Other Gram Panchayat Members, and Villagers praised and appreciated the initiative and efforts taken by Kaveri College’s NSS Team.  Ms. Sunanda Shinde- Head of School accepted the Floor Carpet gift on behalf of school and expressed heartfelt gratitude for the same. Students’ faces were literally glowing with happiness while accepting the gift and were very happy and grateful.

MOU signed between Kaveri College and Pune International Marathon Trust (PIMT)

Kannada Sangha Pune’s Kaveri College of Arts, Commerce and Science, Pune (KCASC) and Pune International Marathon Trust, Pune, Maharashtra (PIMT) has together aimed to establish and develop closed partnership to promote sports culture between the two parties through mutual assistance, specially in the area of sports and allied activities.


Both, PIMT and KCASC believe that collaboration and co-operation between themselves will promote more effective use of each of their resources and provide each one of them with varied enhanced opportunities for youth development, particularly through strengthening the sports and sports allied activities.


Dr. Ashok Agrawal- Principal, Kaveri College and Mr. Rohan More- Trustee, Pune International Marathon Trust signed the MOU(Memorandum Of Understanding). Dr. Ashok Agrawal assured everyone that Kaveri will be in a role of complete co-operation and ready to take all the efforts for the upcoming 35th International Marathon 2022 to be held on 27 February 2022. Whereas, Mr. Rohan More assured that this tie up will definitely help in introducing and offering a huge variety of opportunities to students in future in terms of sports.

One Day National Level Conference on Mental Health & Economic Perspective


Kannada Sangha Pune’s Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Pune in association with Central University of Haryana organized a One Day National Level Conference on Mental Health & Economic Perspective on 12 February 2022. This Conference was very aptly supported by SkillSlate Foundation, Pune. 

 

With the objective of understanding how addressing vital aspects like policies and perspectives related to mental health can be a precursor for enhancing national wealth and prosperity and also with the objective of spreading awareness, this conference was arranged. The inaugural session witnessed the gracious presence of illustrious personalities from the field of academics and different organizations associated with the area related to mental health. Dr. Ashok Agrawal, Principal, Kaveri College welcomed the dignitaries and briefed about the college and its development over the time period.

 

Prof. Dr. Tankeshwar Kumar, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Central University Haryana graced the conference as the Chief Guest. During his address to the audience, he mentioned that in the backdrop of increasing suicide cases, depression, mental illness, it is important to spread awareness regarding the significance of positive mental health. He appreciated the efforts taken by the organizers in this regard.

 

Mr. Kushal Hegde, Hon’ble President Kannada Sangha, Pune addressed the audience as the Session Chair. He appreciated the idea of selecting such an important topic for deliberation. He also informed about the contribution of the Sangha in the field of education. Mrs. Malati Kalmadi, Hon’ble Secretary, Kannada Sangha Pune highlighted on the aspect that due to the pandemic there are increasing cases of issues related to mental health. And it is very important to be vocal about mental well being. She emphasized that there should be integration of body, mind and intellect so that there is movement towards spirituality and holistic upbringing. She graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. Shri. Vijay Kanhekar, Hon’ble Member, Advisory Committee, Divyang Act, 2018, Maharashtra and Founder, Mahatma Gandhi Seva Sangha (MGSS) spoke on the changing perspectives towards mental illness and mental retardation. He also shared about the various provisions made by the Government, various Acts, and also spoke on the significance of schemes like ‘Niramaya’. Shri. Kanhekar graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour.

 

The technical session witnessed guidance and spreading of information and awareness by Mrs. Archana Deshpande, Founder ManahPrabodh about various mental health related aspects like global perspective and economic budget, policy provisions related to mental health in India, need for changing mindsets and initiatives at society level.  She encouraged participants to contribute towards creating a ripple effect at the grassroot level. Ms. Dipti Panhalkar, Founder Mind Spa shared tips regarding practicing positive mental health. She added that ‘understanding one’s thinking pattern by oneself’ is very important in order to develop a positive mental health. 

 

Dr. Muckta Karmarkar, Vice Principal Kaveri College highlighted the importance of building mental strength for a better mental health.

 

The closing remark was shared by Dr. Sunita Tanwar, Faculty, Central University of Haryana. She mentioned that the pandemic had both problems like stress, depression etc. as well as many learnings like now people are open to talk on such important topics. She added that discussion on mental health is no more a taboo. She appreciated the efforts taken by the organizers.

The conference witnessed around 1000 participants across India from all walks of life, viz., homemakers, students, teachers, professionals working in the area of mental health, other working and non-working professionals. 

 

The conference was assisted by Advisory Partners - MGSS, District Disability Rehab Center, Pune and by Academic Partners - MIT Arts, Commerce and Science College, VIT College of Arts, Science and Commerce, DhayryaDa and ManahPrabodh.

The conference was supported by Mr. Ameya Agrawal, Founder, SkillSlate Foundation, Pune who introduced all the dignitaries to the audience. He provided a platform for deliberation on the topic. Kaveri College Organized A Workshop on Careers in Writing


Department of English at Kannada Sangha Pune's Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce organized a "Workshop on Careers in Writing" on 29th Jan 2022, Saturday on the platform of Zoom. Prof. Mayuri Patil, initiated the program by welcoming everyone. Dr. Muckta Karmarkar, vice Principal, welcomed and briefed everyone with the motive and basic idea of the workshop. She mentioned the feeling of gratitude and honor towards Ms. Rosemeen Khimani-Pradhan, founder of SanRose Foundation, Talahasee, Florida and Mr. Atul Patil-Director MIT, Dept. Of Holistic Development for their presence and participation. Dr. Muckta Karmarkar, Vice Principal virtually welcomed the resource person, Ms. Nupur-Project & Rights Co-Ordinator at Vishwakarma Publications to the Kaveri’s Online Workshop. Ms.Gayatri Joshi-student from SYBA, Kaveri took over by welcoming everyone to the session, giving a brief introduction of Ms. Nupur and requesting her to start with the session. 

Ms. Nupur began her session by informing various career opportunities available nowadays apart from the traditional options of becoming an Engineer or Doctor. She explained, how one can earn a good living while doing something they love. She introduced the audience with a variety of career options which are based on skills in writing and reading and explained the eligibility, and demand for the same. She expressed that careers in writing or reading are passion based, they give you happiness and satisfaction. She also expressed that it takes creativity to take up writing as a career. She focused on career options like becoming a Content Writer, Proof-reader,  Blogger, Dialogue Writer, Script Writer, Novelist, Short Story Writer, Poet, etc. She talked spontaneously and enthusiastically regarding all the topics saying that they are very close to her heart as she too is very fond of reading and writing.

Dr. Muckta and Ms. Mayuri expressed sheer happiness and satisfaction towards Ms. Nupur for such a worthy session. Ms. Nupur shared names of firms and publication houses where the freshers are welcomed and students tend to get a really good experience. Students, being immensely mesmerized and impressed by the session, also requested to get access to read blogs by Ms. Nupur on various platforms like YouthKiAawaj, Instagram, Twitter, etc. 

Towards the end of the session, Mukta Inchekar-student from SYBA Kaveri, presented the Vote of Thanks. In all, around 120  people participated in this session. 



National Level Post Budget Talk on "What's for us from Budget 2022 "

 


Kannada Sangha Pune’s Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Pune in association with SkillSlate Foundation, Pune organized "National Level Post Budget Talk on What's for us from Budget 2022" on 4 Feb 2022 on zoom platform. This Occasion was graced by Shri. Chandrashekhar Tilak, Ex-Chief Risk Officer & Executive Vice-President at NSDL E-Governance Infrastructure Ltd. who served as the honorable keynote speaker for this session. Mr. Ameya Agrawal-Founder SkillSlate Foundation, Pune welcomed the dignitaries and the audience. Principal Dr. Ashok Agrawal in his address, welcomed everyone, and expressed pleasure over the number of participants present for the session. He also briefed everyone about the consistently progressive journey of Kaveri College. Shri. Narayan Hegde-Vice President, Kannada Sangha Pune and Shri. Sudhakar Rao- Trustee and Management Advisor, Kannada Sangha graced the event with their presence. They also appreciated the initiative of College and the entire team for organizing and executing a webinar on such a spectacular topic. They also shared some views on Budget 2022. 


While talking over “What's for us from Budget 2022”, Shri. Chandrashekhar Tilak explained the concepts of Digital Rupee and Crypto Currency. He explained the difference between crypto and digital currency. He briefed about career and growth opportunities in various sectors including Banking, IT, service, Education and many others. He majorly talked upon spreading awareness on Digital Rupee and its advantages on strengthening various sectors focusing on technological advancement and employment opportunities. He expressed that it's very optimistic for progressive country like India to have a +3 GDP Growth rate. Lecture was followed by a Question & Answers session, in which many students and teachers from audience came up spontaneously, to which, Mr. Chandrashekhar very remarkably answered. He explained the future of crypto currency, Defence sector confining to a success story of Atma Nirbhar Bharat, GDP - Growing and becoming sustainable, Contribution of ISRO projects, Career opportunities in stock, derivatives and commodities market and so on.


Vice Principal Dr. Muckta Karmarkar, other teachers from Kaveri College and students participated in huge numbers for the session. Similarly, Parents, Other working professionals, and participants outside Kaveri too benefited from this session.  Around 500 students participated in this session through Zoom and many others joined from Youtube Live. 






Kaveri College Organized Hands-On Workshop on React JS


Kannada Sangha Pune’s Kaveri College of Arts, Commerce and Science, Pune in association with SkillSlate Foundation, Pune organized a hands-on workshop on React JS on an online platform. This workshop was scheduled with a motive of  introducing the students with recent upgraded technologies. For this session, an expert from Software Development Sector Mr. Pagariya was the resource person. He shared his views and vast knowledge with the students. He talked in detail to the students regarding one of the most trending and popular React JS programming. He introduced several upcoming scopes and the need of learning these areas and opportunities available in future. 

Principal Dr. Ashok Agrawal, in his address, mentioned that Team Kaveri is always persistent in organizing and executing innovative, enhancing and beneficial sessions for betterment and overall development of students. 

This workshop received a huge response from everywhere. A huge number of students, teachers, IT professionals, and others participated in this workshop from all over India. Students and other participants came up expressing gratitude towards Kaveri by giving spontaneous positive feedback and appreciation for organizing such a beneficial session.

“Martyr’s Day Celebration by NSS Unit of Kaveri College”

 

On the occasion of Death Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Martyr’s Day was celebrated on 30th of January by the NSS Department of Kannada Sangha Pune’s  Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce.

Martyr’s Day is celebrated to remember and acknowledge the efforts and sacrifice of the freedom fighters and revolutionary people who worked for the betterment of the country throughout their life. NSS Department has organized various activities in order to offer tribute to the martyrs. Everyone observed 2 minutes of silence to pay homage to the great souls. NSS Volunteers executed a cleanliness drive by cleaning the college premises and playground by taking immense efforts. Volunteers took this opportunity to spread awareness about Nature Conservation campaign at Kasar Amboli, a place in Mulshi Taluka by executing rally accompanied by eye-catching posters with appealing slogans written on it. They executed the cleanliness drive there as well under which they cleaned the entire village, temple area, Jilha Parishad School premises and other premises at the village Kasar Amboli and sorted the garbage. The Sarpanch of Kasar Amboli village and all the villagers appreciated the sincere selfless efforts put in by the volunteers and praised the initiative.

Principal Dr. Ashok Agrawal and Vice Principal Dr. Muckta Karmarkar motivated students for such noble deeds, and guided through the execution. NSS PO Prof. Nilesh Nemade, Assistant PO Ms. Sujata Bachhav and Dr. Anand Buddhikot helped students with immense support and guidance through execution of several noble activities on the occasion of Martyr’s Day.






Kaverian Sayee Sukale’s March on Rajpath

 

Sayee Sukale, student from 2nd Year BA at Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Pune has added one more feather in the cap of TEAM KAVERI. She has made everyone extremely proud with her achievement. She represented Kaveri College in  the Parade at Rajpath as NCC Cadet held on 26th January 2022 on 73rd Republic Day. She was honored with an golden and esteemed opportunity to be a part of such a prestigious Parade of Country on such an occasion. After intensive training of 40 days and almost 3 months of journey filled with learning, Sayee has made TEAM KAVERI, her family,  and friends  extremely proud of her.

Principal Dr. Ashok Agrawal, Vice Principal. Dr. Muckta Karmarkar, all the teaching/non-teaching staff, and students felt immensely proud of this achievement and wholeheartedly congratulated Sayee for her well deserved success. Everyone witnessed and appreciated Sayee’s participation by watching the parade on TV.

Kaveri Technofest 2021-22 National Level Technical Extravaganza


 Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce under the Department of BBA(CA) organized Three Days National Level Technical Extravaganza Technofest 2k22 from 17 January to 19 January 2022. 

The inauguration of the fest was done on 17 January 2022. Mr. Ashwin Shastri Hon. Jt. Secretary, Kannada Sangha, Pune was the chief guest of the inaugural function. In his inaugural speech Mr. Ashwin Shastri praised Kaveri College for organizing such events. He congratulated the participants for taking part in Technofest. He said that the fundamental for career growth is one should be open to opportunities and should have a positive outlook, this will make you successful. Dr. Ashok M. Agrawal, Principal, Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Dr. Muckta Karmarkar, Vice Principal, Ms. Chitra Alavani Coordinator BBA(CA), staff members and participants were present on this occasion.


The inauguration session was followed by Keynote address by Mr. Ajay Phatak Trustee, The Ecological Society, Pune, India, an Independent Professional, former Vice President at Harman Connected Services. He spoke on sustainability and its relation with Technology. He focused on the impact of the environment on technology.Technology can lead to overproduction and over utilization so  explore the brighter side of technology in a better manner. 


Day 1 witnessed the Online Animated ppt Competition. The competition received a huge response from colleges all over Maharashtra. The Topic for the competition was Online and Offline Education. This competition was designed to give students an opportunity to express their creative skills and enable them to organize their thoughts and present them in a systematic manner. Participants were evaluated on five parameters that were Flow of Presentation, Slide Content, Animation, Originality and Clarity of art work. Mr. Madar Bapat, an independent Information Security Consultant judged the competition. 

First prize was bagged by Vaibhavi Maruti Bandal from MIT Arts Commerce and Science College. She won cash prize of Rs 1000 and e-certificate and Second prize by Dipti Deepak Suryavanshi from Huzurpaga Mahila Vanizya Mahavidyalaya. She won cash prize of Rs 500 and e-certificate


The second Day of the fest started with a session On Careers in Tech conducted by Ms. Vidya Paliwal , Senior Lead Principal, Head – IVS (Infosys Validation Solutions) Academy at Infosys | Expertise in Software Testing Tools and Technologies. 

In her session, she gave emphasis on thought process, planning and focus on interests like what do you want to do. She also explained TOP IT Roles and their required Skills like IOT, Big Data Engineers, Blockchain Engineer, Data Scientist, Cloud Architect, Full stack Developer, Quality Engineer etc. She asked the students to focus on building skills in a particular area , also suggested students to ``Market for yourself”  and  shared tips to write a resume and how to articulate your skills. Participants participated very enthusiastically in the interactive session which helped them to get their careers related questions solved.


Creative Website Designing competition was conducted on Day 2 . This competition was conducted to give students an opportunity to show their technical skills and apply them to develop a website.  The theme of the competition was to design a website for a company who wishes to launch a new product in the market. This website must help to advertise the product and also collect feedback and reviews from the users. This competition received a good response from various colleges. Participants developed websites on various topics like Herbal care, Explore the world-traveler, Smart watch, plumbing  services, online courses, furniture’s ,electronics and many more. Participants were evaluated on six parameters which were Flow of Website Content, Creativity, Originality, Clarity of work, Relevance with the Topic. The competition was judged by Ms. Bhairavi Joshi, Technology Lead. Under this competition first prize was bagged by Jayesh Ramesh Sonawane & Mayur Arun Patil from Modern College of Arts Science. they won a cash prize of Rs 1000 and e-certificate  and Second prize by Mohini Dipak Chaudhari from Abasaheb Garware College. She won cash prize of Rs 500 and e-certificate


The third day of the fest started with the competition on Game Development using Scratch. Participants from various colleges participated in the competition. Different games like flappy Bird, Car Racing Game, Multiplayer Game,uiz Application,Platformer Game, Squid Game, Covid Vaccin, Helocopter fly 2D, Word Game , Soccer Game etc. were presented by the students. Ms. Harshal Khairnar, 3D Artist, Mindox Ark Solutions, Pune judged the competition. She suggested that if students are interested in gaming they can work on softwares like Unity & Real. Game development improves abilities & skills like Coordination, Attention, concentration, Problem solving & quick thinking multitasking. She cleared all queries asked by students. Harshada Godbole and Sarth Pokale from Kaveri College won First of Rs 1000 and e-certificate and Second Prize of Rs 500 and e-certificate respectively in this Competition. 

Kaveri Technofest ended with a valedictory and award function. Mrs. Chitra Alavani, Coordinator BBA(CA) welcomed all and gave a brief review of Kaveri Tecnofest 2K22. More than 300+ participants across India registered for the event.


Ms.Yogesh Kulkarni ,Executive director of Vigyan Ashram was invited to give the Valedictory address.  Ms.Yogesh Kulkarni addressed the students on the topic ‘Entrepreneurship in IT’ Before his address he introduced the Vigyan Ashram, facilities provided and activities conducted at Vigyan Ashram Pabal by sharing some glimpses and experiences at Vigyan Ashram. He said that Vigyan Ashram is working for rural development (in terms of Computers, Internat, Telephone, aAqua website for Agriculture question-answer for farmers, Agrocom website for weather information or market information etc), graduate and undergraduate students come for internships in Vigyan Ashram for designing a solution for real life problems. Increasing Efficiency and increasing productivity is important for management students who are looking for IT opportunities in entrepreneurship.

 He asked the students to look for issues faced by people which can be converted into a business plan for becoming entrepreneurs.

Kaveri Technofest concluded with a vote of thanks followed by the prize distribution ceremony.

125th Birth Anniversary Celebration of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose & Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav at Kaveri College



Kannada Sangha Pune's Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Pune in association with Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal had organized a National Level Seminar to Commemorate 125th Birth Anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose & Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav on 23rd  January,2022 on the topic: “Importance of 23rd January for Youth”.


Dr. Umashankar Pachauri-All India General Secretary at  Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal was the guest of honor for the programme. Principal Dr. Ashok Agrawal welcomed the chief guest virtually and briefed everyone about the successful journey of Kaveri College. He mentioned that Kaveri has always given equal importance to all round development of wards with academic excellence.


While addressing the audience, Dr. Umashankar talked spontaneously about the significance of 23rd January for youth, about the life and ideologies of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, etc. He briefed the audience about the various aspects of incidents from the life of Subhash Chandra Bose and tried to explain how focused and determined he was from the very initial days of his life. He emphasized saying that, every student, from a very young age, while starting their academic or professional life, must keep the perspective of contributing in betterment, wellbeing and development of the country. Everyone should feel it to be their moral and ethical duty to make their part of efforts towards the country. He also said that due to the valor shown and efforts taken by Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, he is still remembered by everyone and his Birth Anniversary is celebrated as “Parakram Diwas” (day of valor).


Vice Principal Dr. Muckta Karmarkar, all the teachers and students at Kaveri College attended this valuable session and found it completely worth. Ms. Sujata Bacchav- NSS Assistant PO did the compering for the program, whereas Ms. Suwarna Sabnis presented the vote of thanks.

Voters Day Celebrated at Kaveri College


NSS Unit of Kannada Sangha Pune’s Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce,  celebrated National Voters Day with great sense of responsibility and enthusiasm on Tuesday, 25th January 2022. Student volunteers from NSS took immense efforts to spread awareness among the people around the college premises about the importance of voting and explained the importance of the right to vote in democratic India through attractive posters, announcements, and personal interactions and slogans. 


Principal Dr. Ashok Agrawal and Vice Principal Dr. Muckta Karmarkar orated the students regarding the significance of Voting  and appreciated the spirit in students to spread this awareness all around. Dr. Jayashri Bangali- Head, Students Development Committee and Prof. Nilesh Nemade- PO, NSS Unit,  motivated and guided the students to do the best of this event. Students voluntarily and spontaneously participated in the activities and made it a successful event.

Three Days National Level Kaveri Science Festival 2021-22


Kannada Sangha Pune’s Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce had organized a Three Days National Level Kaveri Science Festival 2021-22 from 20th to 22nd of January 2022 on an online platform.


Principal Dr. Ashok Agrawal inaugurated the fest. In his opening address, he explained the  motives of organizing 3-Days Science Festival. He emphasized on the fact how even in the times of Covid, Kaveri has succeeded in arranging varied programs, lectures, workshops, etc on an online platform for overall development of students. He wished everyone a bright future and success in endeavors.


B.Sc.CS Coordinator Dr. Jayashri Bangali, introduced the audience with the aims and objectives of the programme and heartily welcomed the dignitaries and audience. Dr. Ravindra Kshirsagar- Vice Principal, Modern College, GaneshKhind, Pune was the resource person for the first session. He thoroughly guided the students regarding the topic “Career in Science”. He explained the immense significance and efficiency of studying science and introduced students to a number of career options available after pursuing education in science. He mentioned that science is a field of knowledge, studying and working in this field takes a person’s intellectual level from vacuum to extreme logical reasoning.


In the second session, Mr. Anuj Narang- Senior Manager V.W.O, Mumbai was the resource person. He guided students on the topic “Tips for Resume Writing”. He threw light on various essentials and aspects of Resume Writing like- how one must write a resume, what all a resume must comprise of, how to use effective and attractive words and sentences in a resume, and so on. He made the session very worthy and interactive by fondly answering the questions and queries asked by the students towards the end of the session.


In the third session, Mrs. Kavitha Sudhir- Senior Manager,PTC,Headquartered in Boston graced the session as a resource person. She fondly and inclusively talked on the topic of “Technical Writing”. She explained in detail how fusing the skill of writing with the basics of technical essentials can give you many career options on varied platforms. She insisted that making appropriate use of science and technology, visual aids is necessary in order to be a skilled technical writer. Certain demos were also shown by her to explain her points entirely.


An exhibition of electronics projects was held during the Kaveri Science Festival. From this exhibition, the students presented various replicas of their creativity and new technology. The students presented various projects like gas leakage phone call and exhaust fan, water level controller, lie fi, automatic street light, automatic hand sanitizer machine, adjustable time traffic controller, mobile controlled switch.


Various competitions were also organized in the three-day National Kaveri Science Festival. Prof. Chitra Nagarkar, Head, Computer Science Department, Garware College, guided the students on the occasion of inauguration of Kaveri Science Competition. "Participating in competitions is more important than winning competitions," she said, urging students to take part in various competitions. Speaking on the topic of website designing, she said, "Website designing is an art." She said that participating in competitions enhances one's self-confidence, knowledge, ability and knowledge.


Kaveri Science Quiz, Kaveri PPT Presentation Competition and Kaveri Website Designing Competition were conducted for the students. Students from many reputed universities and colleges in India actively participated in all the competitions. Quantum Technology, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Cyber ​​Security: New Challenges, Applications of Pythagoras Theorem and Probability were the topics for PPT Presentation. Dr. Neha Deshpande, Professor, Department of Electronics, Garware College, acted as the examiner for the PPT Presentation Competition.


The 3-day National Level Kaveri Science Festival concluded with the awarding of prizes to the winners of various competitions. Dr. Muckta Karmarkar, Vice Principal of the College, appreciated the students for their overwhelming response to the national level event. 

Dr. Jayashri Bangali gave an overview of the 'Three Day National Level Kaveri Science Festival 2021-22'.


More than 700 students participated in the Kaveri Science Festival through online media. The programme was compered by students Aditi Kathale, Maitreyee Joshi and Isha Hosur. The programme was concluded by Prof. Shilpa Kannade proposing the vote of thanks.








 



Yuva Saptah 2022


NSS Department at Kannada Sangha Pune’s Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Pune very enthusiastically organized and celebrated “Yuva Saptah '' ie: Youth Week at Kaveri College from 12th to 16th January 2022. On the occasion of Swami Vivekanand’s 159th Birth Anniversary, various activities, workshops, events and programs were arranged and successfully executed by the students with the proper guidance by teachers at college.


The Yuva Saptah was graciously inaugurated by Principal Dr. Ashok Agrawal. He introduced everyone with the fact that every year the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekanand is celebrated on 12th January, as National Youth Day in our country. He said India is referred to as the Country of Young People and this day is dedicated to the youth as Swami Vivekanand and his thoughts have always proved very enlightening for everyone to lead an ethical and successful life. He proudly mentioned that Swami Vivekanand was a high end philosopher, reformer and a boon to India and his teachings are truly a treasure for everyone. Vice Principal Dr. Muckta Karmarkar too shared her views regarding the significance of Yuva Din and the purpose of having the entire Yuva Saptah at Kaveri College.    


On 12th January, on the inauguration of Yuva Saptah, a lecture on the topic “Swami Vivekananda's Message to Youth” by Dr. Shirish Limaye was organized. In the session, he explained to the audience how character building is enhanced by combining growing self-confidence and strong will and hard work through education. He emphasized the importance of hard work, saying that hard work is the key to success in life. He provided excellent guidance on how to coordinate challenges and skills. He concluded by saying that concentration can lead to goal attainment. 


On 13th January, day 2 of Yuva Saptah,  Dr. Dilip Patwardhan guided the students on 'Key to Success'. He said that in order to motivate the students for a bright future, it is important not only to achieve success but also to bring happiness and satisfaction to all through that success. He said that a healthy diet, exercise, sleep and positive emotions are very important for a person to live a good life. Inspiring the students about study and knowledge, he gave the mantra of reading, comprehension and repetition. He suggested ways to acquire knowledge through group discussions.


In further days, the NSS Department of the college had organized various activities and campaigns from 14th to 17th January. In this, 'Road Safety Campaign' was successfully implemented near Paud Phata and Deccan Corner near the main signal areas. In this campaign, following the rules of covid, the students presented various slogans and placards for public awareness and for the implementation of safety rules by all, and undertook a campaign for the people of Pune to follow the rules of road safety.


Students conducted 'Consumer’s Awareness Drive' near Big Bazaar at Kothrud in Pune. Under this Consumer’s Awareness Drive, Consumer Awareness was created by providing information on various rights and consumer forums to the consumers. The students created awareness among the masses by implementing the 'De-addiction Campaign' at Nalastop and explained its disadvantages. On 17th January, 'Covid-19 vaccination campaign' was implemented in the college. In this, the citizens who are eligible for booster dose and first and second dose were vaccinated following the safety rules of Covid-19. Many students, parents and senior citizens benefited from this vaccination campaign. 


The Youth Week concluded with a lecture inspired by the volunteers to participate in the concept of Healthy Maharashtra. Mr. Onkar Pattewar, CEO, P.Ford Pharmaceuticals under the concept of 'Healthy Maharashtra' gave a brief overview of the omicron virus and also explained the reasons behind the rapid increase in the number of patients. He also explained to the students the precautions to be taken during epidemic diseases. He appealed to the students to abide by the rules laid down by the medical department during the epidemic as a responsible citizen. The lectures were conducted on an online platform. A large number of students, teachers, parents and other working professionals participated in these sessions.


Prof. Nilesh Nemade, NSS Program Officer of the College and APO Prof. Sujata Bachhav encouraged the students to volunteer for the programme.. The volunteers of Kaveri College successfully carried out the Youth Week by registering their active participation in every event of the Youth Week.
