Kannada Sangha Pune’s Kaveri College has inaugurated
Kaveri Entrepreneurship Development Center (KEDC) on 18th October,
2016 at the hands of Kannada Sangha Pune’s President Mr. Kushal Hegde.
Mr. Baburao, Treasurer, Kannada Sangha Pune, Dr.
S.B.Kharosekar, Principal Kaveri College, Mrs. Suchismita Mohonty, Vice
Principal, Mrs. Deepa Sathe, Head, KEDC, were present on the occasion.
In her introduction of KEDC, Mrs. Deepa Sathe said
that the centre is formed to identify entrepreneurs in students of Kaveri
College and then to facilitate them with necessary knowledge and entrepreneur
skills through various activities.
Mr. Kushal Hegde in his speech shared his own
journey from a small town young man to a successful industrialist of Mumbai..
He shared his difficult journey which started with mere capital of Rs. 50,000
and now stands with a reaping turnover of Rs. 450 crores per annum. He said a
successful entrepreneur must believe in hard work, and should work with
integrity, credibility and trustworthiness. His story from rags to riches
inspired students immensely.
Dr.S.B. Kharosekar in his speech said that in the 21st
Century dreams values more than money. He said entrepreneurship plays an
important role in society and helps economy grow fast. He emphasized on
possessing entrepreneurial characteristics such as being passionate about one’s
work, being visionary, hardworking, decisive, resilient, goal oriented, and
being job seeker rather than a job giver.
Dr. Kharosekar also appreciated the initiatives of Kaveri
College in starting two centers, Kaveri Entrepreneurship Development Centre and
Kaveri Research and Innovation Center for the benefit of students and assured that students
will be provided with required skills through various activities such as guest
lectures, competitions, workshops etc.
The program started with Saraswati Poojan and Deep
Prajjwalan. Mrs. Manasi Joshi compered the program while Mrs. Pooja Ambole gave
a vote of thanks.
