New Voters Registration Drive got huge response at Kaveri College

 

A special mahacamp of voter’s registration was organized for the students by Kothrud Assembly Constituency under the orders of Hon'ble Collector Pune at Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce. A new voter enrolment programme was carried out under this drive. The students were asked to bring residential proofs and documents as well as identity cards for the registration process. During the drive held at the college, the names of all the new voters were enrolled and also the guidance was given on linking of Aadhaar number and voter ID card.


On this occasion, the drive received special support from the Principal - Dr. Ashok Agrawal and vice-principal Dr. Muckta Karmarkar. The election Naib Tahasildar Hon'ble Mr. Khollam Swapnil and Kothrud constituency division coordinators Mr. Deepak Kandhare and Mr. Raju Patole motivated the students to register for voter drive by guiding them with a demonstration. "A special revision programme is being implemented to ensure that the name is enrolled in the voters' list as a national duty, and no one is deprived of the right to vote. It is very important to have a voting card so that every member of the society can actively participate in the affairs of democracy.” He also asserted on the occasion that the programme is important to bring the youth of the society into this stream. 


The event was organized by the National Service Scheme unit of the college. NSS Programme Officer Prof. Nilesh Nemade gave special guidance to the students and motivated them to register their names in the voters' list.  Dr. Anand Buddhikot did the anchoring of the programme and also proposed the vote of thanks.

Youth Day is celebrated with great enthusiasm in Kaveri College

 


On the occasion of the 160th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda,Youth Day was celebrated by the National Service Scheme Department of Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce, on January 12, 2023. The birth anniversary of Rajmata Jijau was also celebrated on this occasion. While saluting the image of both the great personalities, Principal Dr. Ashok Agarwal said that," The birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda is celebrated every year on 12th January as 'National Youth Day'. This day is dedicated to youth as National Youth Day. India is called the nation of youth. Swami Vivekananda was an Indian philosopher and reformer. Swami Vivekananda's thoughts give right direction and inspiration to the youth. He devoted his entire life to social work. Today, there is also the birth anniversary of Rajmata Jijabai who moulded, the creator of Swarajya, the inspiration of all people - Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Because of Rajmata Jijau, the common people could see Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and swarajya. 


The Vice Principal Dr. Mukta Karmarkar also guided the students.The Board of Student Development officer of the college Dr.Jayashri Bangali was also present for the event. Programme Officer Prof. Nilesh Nemade and Assistant Program Officer Prof. Sujata Bachhav motivated the volunteers. Volunteers in large numbers actively participated in the program.





Enthusiastic response to 'No Vehicle Day' at Kaveri College for the purpose of environmental conservation.



Kannada Sangha’s Kaveri College of Arts, Science & Commerce, organized 'No Vehicle Day' on 23rd December 2022 for the purpose of environmental conservation. This activity was successfully carried out with the cooperation of the faculty, non-teaching staff and students of the college. Faculty, non-teaching staff and students used public transport to reach the college by rickshaws and buses while many students reached the college by bicycle. As there was no vehicle being seen in the college premises, the area seemed lively. Through this activity which reflected social commitment, the message of environment conservation was given to the society. The activity was organized with the aim of pollution free India as well as environment conservation, fuel conservation and reduction of noise pollution.


Principal of the college Dr.Ashok Agarwal and Vice-Principal Dr.Mukta Karmarkar specially appreciated the students for this environment friendly activity. NSS Program Officer Prof. Nilesh Nemade guided the volunteers for this nature friendly activity.









Constitution Day Celebrated at Kaveri College



Constitution Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm on 26th November 2022 at Kannada Sangha’s Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce. All the teaching staff, non-teaching staff and the NSS volunteers read the preamble of the constitution on this occasion. NSS Assistant  Program Officer Prof. Sujata Bachhav introduced the program and everyone read out the Preamble of the Constitution after Prof. Suvarna Sabnis. 


The program was executed with special support and guidance by Principal Dr.Ashok Agrawal. He expressed his gratitude to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar-the architect and father of the Indian constitution and explained the importance of the constitution which he wrote for the building of the country. On this occasion, he paid homage to the martyrs of the Attacks of 26/11.  In the glory of the secular constitution of India, he asked everyone to imbibe the principles and purpose of the constitution. 


NSS Program Officer Prof. Nilesh Nemade and Office Superintendent Mr. Ravindra Bhalerao were also present on this occasion. Prof. Sujata Bachhav did the compering  for the programme and presented a vote of thanks.
