Mr. Mukund Apte educated Young Kaverians on Petroleum Conservation

Kannada Sangha’s Kaveri College of Science and Commerce organized a Guest Lecture on Petroleum Fuels Conservation Awareness Programme on 7th Oct, 2014 in the college Seminar Hall. Shri. Mukund Apte was the Chief Speaker of the Programme. He has worked for 25 years as Head Marketing Manager with Indian Oil Corporation, Pune. Also he is associated with Petroleum Corporation Research Association (PCRA), a unit under Ministry of Conservation.  
 Shri. Mukund Apte emphasized that conservation of Petroleum is very vital for our future generations. He quoted that “practice what you preach”, so also conservation of petroleum should be practiced by everyone. He stressed that it’s necessary for everyone to use petroleum, but such a use should not result to wastage of petroleum. He appealed to the students to develop an attitude of conservation and avoid wastage of resources by adapting conservation practices.  Also, to create this awareness amongst their neighbourhood and the society at large. He highlighted that one needs to think deeply towards the global survival as rising uses of fuels have lead to the fatal problems like Global Warming and climate change. He advised the gathering to use various alternatives of transport like solar cars, biofuels, electric cars, etc. Everyone should practice the 3R’S namely REDUCE, REUSE and RECYCLE for a bright future. He also conducted a quiz based on the petroleum conservation in which Ms. Nikita Bhoine, Ajay Sonar and Komal Kashilkar won the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes respectively.
Mr. Anand Buddhikot, (NSS - PO) welcomed and introduced the Guest of the program. Ms. Sneha Govande compeered the programme and Prof. Mrs. Manasi Joshi (NSS – APO) proposed the Vote of Thanks.
