Kaveri College conducts ‘BaateiN Entrepreneurs ki,’ an initiative for the students by the students

It is said that real learning happens when students become entrepreneurs. It was a proud moment for Kaveri College when two former students Mr. Punit Joshi and Ms. Shibani Deodhar visited the College as young successful entrepreneurs. They were invited to participate the talk-show, ‘BaateiN Entrepreneurs Ki,’ a brainchild of Kaveri Entrepreneurs Development Centre’s (KEDC), which honors the student entrepreneurs of Kaveri College and invite them to share their experiences with students.  KEDC is established to develop entrepreneurial skills among students and help them become successful entrepreneurs. Dr. S.B. Kharosekar, Principal, Kaveri College, Mrs. Suchismita Mohanty, Vice Principal and Mrs. Deepa Sathe, Head, KEDC were present on the occasion.

Dr. S.B. Kharosekar praised the idea of the Talk-Show and hoped that this initiative will encourage students to see themselves as leaders and achievers in the society. He appreciated KEDC for coming up with innovative ideas to inspire students to become successful entrepreneurs.

Mr. Punit Joshi, a former Commerce student runs Parker Shirts and Trousers, a company which was established in 1989 by his parents.  Today Parker brand is manufactured in five production units and sold through 30 exclusive outlets in and around Maharashtra. Ms. Shibani Deodhar, a former student of Kaveri College started her own venture Sweet Aroma which provides delicious and attractive cakes only by order. Both the students shared their experience as entrepreneurs and playfully answered all the queries from the audience.

“Mind set is the key for any successful business,” Said Punit and elaborated on how traditional values and business ethics help him sustain the competitive world. He said his company strives hard to provide good quality menswear at affordable prices and earn good response from customers all over.

Making delicious cakes was Shibani’s hobby and she turned it into a successful business. An alumni of Kaveri College, she said, “I made my first cake when I was in SY BCOM.”  She talked about the challenges in the confectionary industry such as heavy competition, varied demands of customers, complacent creativity etc. She fondly remembers when veteran actor Jackie Shroff encouraged her by praising her bakery skills. She plans to come up with range of sugar free cakes and other bakery stuff for diabetic customers.
