“Soft Skills Development Programme at Kaveri College”



Kannada Sangha’s Kaveri College of Arts, Science & Commerce conducted a 6 days Soft Skills Development Workshop for academic year 2015-16  from 8th  August to 13th August, 2016  for all TY students of BCA, BBA, B.Sc.(CS), and B.Com. The workshop was inaugurated at the hands of Dr. S.B.Kharosekar, Principal, Kaveri College. In his address Dr. S. B. Kharosekar guided the students on role & importance of soft skills. He explained that to be successful you need to have both hard skills and soft skills.
Dr. S. B. Kharosekar took sessions on ‘Personality Development’. He said Personality Development is all about enhancing and grooming one’s outer and inner self to bring about a positive change to one’s life. This process includes boosting one’s confidence, improving communication , widening ones scope of knowledge, learning etiquettes and manners and imbibing oneself with positivity.
Mr. Prashant Karandikar conducted sessions on the topics like Resume Writing, Interview Techniques and Group Discussion.  He also discussed about Aptitude test preparation for masters and interviews. Dr.Bhushan Kelkar spoke about IPR and online courses. He said there are various websites which offer free of cost courses. Ms. Mary George interacted with students and discussed about Communication skills and public speaking. Ms.Rashmi Heblikar spoke about creativity innovation, Leadership and team building. Mr. Datta Rokade conducted session on Time and stress management. Dr. Dinesh Bhutada spoke on Goal setting and problem solving.
On 13th August,2016 in the valedictory programme, Mr. B.B.Rao, Treasurer  Kannada Sangha, was the Chief Guest.  Principal Dr. S. B. Kharosekar, Co-ordinator of SSDP Committee Mrs. Deepa Sathe and other staff members were also present on the occasion. Many students gave their feedback using power point presentation and described that this workshop changed their mindset, changed their attitude towards life and they understood the overall importance of such activities. They thanked Kaveri College for conducting this workshop.

Prof. Geetanjali  More compeered the programme.  Prof.  Pooja Ambole proposed vote of thanks. The programme ended with recital of  “Vande Mataram”.
