Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony held at Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce

The annual prize distribution of Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce held on Friday, 12th February 2016. The Chief guest of the ceremony was Mrs. Umatai Mane, Founder & Director Kshitij NGO, Pune which works for empowerment of deprived and disadvantaged children in Pune. Mr. Kushal Hegde, President, Kannada Sangha, Mr. B. B. Rao, Treasurer, Kannada Sangha, Mrs. Malati Kalmadi, Secretary, Kannada Sangha, Principal Dr. S. B. Kharosekar, Vice Principal Mrs. Suchismita Mohanty, staff members and students were present for the ceremony.
In his speech, Mr. Kushal Hegde motivated the students illustrating his own struggle. He also informed about the history and establishment of Kannada Sangha in Pune. Dr. S.B. Kharosekar, Principal emphasized the importance of hard work to succeed in life. He also mentioned that the practice of annual report presentation was appreciated by the NAAC Peer Team. The Chief guest envisioned the students about various self evaluation methods. Through the techniques of self talk, self motivation, Independent thinking and problem solving skills, youth can transform the image of the nation and society. She advised the students to know oneself, control one’s emotions and introspect. She also said that youth should not depart from his family and society. 
Dr. Muckta Karmarkar presented the annual report in an audiovisual form which received a huge applause from the audience. Around 300 students were awarded in various categories like Academics, Sports, NSS and Yuva Spandan at the hands of the chief guest. Ms. Nikita Naik of TYBBA was chosen as the ‘Best All Rounder Student’ and Mr. Ashish Pawar of T.Y. BCom was chosen as the ‘Best Outgoing Student’ among the students of Kaveri College. While Ms. Priyal Shilimkar of TYBBA was chosen as the ‘Most Outgoing Student’ under the Vishnu Moreshwar Karmarkar Award and Mr. Kunal Vazirani of FYBBA was chosen for the prize of ‘Most Outstanding Sportsmen’ of the year under the Sunita Vishnu Karmarkar Award. Ms. Vaishnavi Pawase was awarded with ‘Dr. Shamarao Kalmadi Award’ with Rs. 2500/- and Ms. Neha Reddy was given a scholarship of Rs. 11000/- in the memory of ‘Late Ramesh Khode’. The Best NSS Volunteer Award was bagged by Onkar Taru, Pratiksha Sutar, Asmita Pawar and Yashodip Unecha.   
Ms. Jui Vaidhya from TYBcom, UR, while sharing her experience with the audience said that she would always like to be associated with Kaveri in years to come. She thanked the Management, Principal and the Staff for her overall development. Mr. Aniket Sathye from TYBCA, Cultural Representative said, “The experience which I obtained in the past years is unforgettable. I have developed as an all rounder. I will definitely miss the moments spent in the college.” He wholeheartedly thanked Dr. S.B. Kharosekar, Principal and the staff members who were responsible for this change.

The teachers who have presented papers in international journals were also felicitated Dr. Muckta Karmarkar, Dr. Jayashree Bangali and Mrs. Shweta Bapat. The Non teaching staffs, Mrs. Archana Swami and Mr. Ashok More were also felicitated for their outstanding contribution. Ms. Sayee Kulkarni compeered the programme and Mrs. Suchismita Mohanty, Vice- Principal gave vote of thanks. The ceremony ended with the recital of Vande Mataram.
