College of Arts, Science and Commerce organized a City Level Business Fest for three days from 27th to 29th January 2020 consisting of various sessions, presentations and competitions for the undergraduate students of all courses and streams. Principal, Dr. Ashok Agrawal, Vice Principal, Dr. Muckta Karmarkar, BBA and BBA (IB) Coordinator, Dr. Shweta Bapat, Faculty members and students were present for the same.
The first day started with ‘Idea Generation Workshop’ conducted by renowned trainer and facilitator Mr. Ravindra Baviskar. The workshop received huge response of more than 90 students from different colleges in Pune such as, SNDT, BMCC, Modern College, DY Patil International University, Tilak Maharashtra University, Arihant College and Huzurpagha Girls College, Kaveri College of Arts Science and Commerce etc. attended the workshop. Various activities were conducted for generating and shaping the ideas and developing the business plan. Second event of the day was Innovative Product Poster Competition. Total 19 teams participated in this competition from different colleges. Participants presented their innovative ideas of products through posters. Judges for the competition were Mrs. Rasika Naik and Mrs. Pooja Ambole.
First Prize was won by Ms. Bhumi Agarwal and Mr. Ashish Devkar from BMCC for their product Heater Bottle and Second prize was won by Ms. Swarali Datar from Kaveri College of Arts Science and Commerce for her product Pen Scanner. Third event of the day was Business Plan Presentation Competition. Total 7 teams from different colleges participated. Students presented their detail startup business plan. Judges for the competition were Mrs. Rasika Naik and Dr. Deepa Sathe. First Prize was won by the team from D.Y. Patil University, their product was Sanitary Pads made-up with bamboo material and Second Prize was won by team from MMCC, their product was Cow-dung Pots. Winners of both the competitions received Rs. 500/- and certificates as 1st prize and Rs.250/- and certificates as second prize at the hands of Dr. Ashok Agrawal, Principal Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce.
Second day started with Business Quiz Competition. 6 teams from different colleges participated in the competition. First Prize was won by team from BMCC and Second Prize was won by team from Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce. Winners of competition received Rs. 500/- and certificates as 1st prize and Rs.250/- and certificates as second prize at the hands of Dr. Ashok Agrawal, Principal Kaveri College of Arts Science and Commerce. Second event of the day was a session on failure stories by Mr. Sanjay Orpe, MD OEM Ekvira Pvt Ltd. and session on success stories by Ms. Samruddha Patil, young entrepreneur and a blogger. They shared the success, failure and learnings out of these stories. 70 students from various colleges attended the session. Third event of the day was Research Paper Poster Presentation. Total 20 teams presented their research paper posters. The event was inaugurated by Dr. Ashok Agrawal, Principal, Dr. Muckta Karmarkar Vice Principal, Mr. Sanjay Orpe and Ms. Samruddha Patil. All the visitors appreciated the efforts of the students.
Third day of the Fest started with Marathon Management Games. This event was divided into two stages. First round was marathon games consisting Hopscotch, Coordination game, paper chain and crossword. Second round of Marathon Management Games was Mad Adz. Total 8 teams from various colleges participated in this event. Second round was for qualifying teams from round one. Out of total 8 teams five teams qualified for the second round. Judges for the second round were Mrs. Veena Tharkunde and Mrs. Suchismita Mohanty. First prize was won by team from Kaveri College of while second prize was won by team from DY Patil University. Winners of competition received their prizes at the hands of Dr. Ashok Agrawal, Principal. Final Event of the fest was Business Attire Presentation. Total 9 participants presented different forms of formal business attire and also explained the importance of the dress codes. The fest received huge response and hence was a great success.
