NSS unit of Kaveri College of Arts, Science and
Commerce had organized an orientation programme of regular activities of NSS on
13th August 2019 in the A.V room of the college. Dr. Shivaji
Pacharne, District Coordinator was chief guest for this programme.Mr.Nilesh
Nemade, NSS Programme officer welcomed Dr. Pacharne, Principal Dr. Ashok
Agrawal, Vice -Principal Dr.Muckta Karmarkar, all the staff members and the
students. He gave brief review about the NSS activities conducted by the
college during last year and the current year. Programme started with NSS song
by the NSS volunteers.
Principal Dr. Ashok Agrawal in his address told the
students that NSS is an opportunity to serve the society. He further added that
participation in NSS will help them to inculcate leadership qualities along
with the sense of national service. He appealed students to work with devotion
and dedication.
Dr. Pacharne in his address appealed the students to
come forward to help the flood affected people of Kolhapur and Sangli. He also
explained the importance of NDRF and Disaster management work during such
situations. He further told all the students that NSS will teach them to work
systematically. He asked all the students to love themselves first, only then they
will be able to serve the society better. He also said that, ‘NSS students are
very lucky as they will be able to solve all the problems in future
confidently’. He appealed all the students to attend ‘Aavhan Camp’ to learn
life lessons and asked all to study human mind to understand them well. He further
explained the importance of decision making in life. Dr.Pacharne also shared his
learning experiences which he gained by attending many NSS camps. He asked students
to inculcate reading habit. He named few books like, ‘ Jugad’, ‘
The Secret’, ‘The Alchemist’ by Paulo Coelho etc which students must read. His speech
was an enthusiastic interaction with all the students. Students enjoyed it a
lot.
In this
programme, the students who completed two years in NSS were felicitated with a
certificate at the hands of the dignitaries.
The programme was concluded with a vote of
thanks proposed by Mrs. Manasi Joshi, Assistant Programme officer of NSS.
