“The youth must turn their attention to untapped markets for business opportunities.” — Mr. Sanjay Orpe.


The Kaveri Entrepreneurship Development Centre (KEDC) of Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce organized an interesting interactive session ‘Tapping…the Untapped’ on 21st August 2018The aim of this session was to make the students aware about the business opportunities in untapped Indian markets
Mr. Sanjay Orpe, Joint Managing Director, Hardikar’s Food Technologies Pvt. Ltd(HFTPL), Pune, was invited as the resource person to share his successful journey in the niche food processing market. Dr. Ashok M. Agrawal, Principal, Kaveri College, Dr. Muckta Karmarkar, Vice Principal, Dr. Deepa Sathe, Head, KEDC, were present on the occasion.
Mr. Sanjay Orpe said that there is huge scope for business opportunities for young entrepreneurs in the untapped Indian markets. He shared with the students his successful
entrepreneurial journey by narrating his plunges into various businesses such as HFTPL’s Dehydration Technology, Vedik engineering, Automation, and robotics etc. He also explained to them about the dehydrating techniques of fruits and vegetables, powdering and pulping of Mangoes, Bottle gourds etc. He inspired the students to choose untapped markets for their entrepreneurial dreams and to work with utmost dedication to realize those dreams.
Dr. Ashok M. Agrawal said that the students are tomorrow’s entrepreneurs and he encouraged students by citing the entrepreneurial models of the companies such as Nirlep and Vicco Vajradanti. He urged the students to think out-of-the-box and develop qualities such
as innovative thinking and positive attitude to become successful entrepreneurs. 
Dr, Deepa Sathe explained the purpose behind the formation of KEDC. She said that KEDC is formed to motivate the budding student entrepreneurs and to develop necessary entrepreneurial skills in them. She encouraged students to come forward with their innovative business plans and promised required assistance to make their business plans viable.
The session received huge response from the students. The students from COEP, SP College, Shahu College also attended the session. In question and answer session, the students asked many questions regarding the newer initiatives in the food Processing Industry, job opportunities, success-rate in untapped businesses, etc.
