“Aspire to Inspire Before You Expire” : Chief Guest Mr.Ashok Ramakrishna Jamenis, in his address at Kaveri College's The Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony

 

The Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony was held with great enthusiasm at Kannada Sangha’s Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Pune on Tuesday 19th July, at Shakuntala Jagannath Shetty Auditorium. Mr. Kushal Hegde-President, Kannada Sangha Pune presided over the function. Mr. Ashok Ramkrishna Jamenis- Renowned Industry Expert & CMA Abhay Deodhar graced the occasion as Chief Guests. Mrs. Indira Salian-Vice President of Kannada Sangh, Mrs. Malati Kalmadi- Secretary Kannada Sangha, Dr. Madhuri Chittevan- Principal of Dr. Kalmadi Shamarao Junior College were present for the event. Principal Dr. Ashok Agrawal, Vice Principal Dr. Muckta Karmarkar, Head of Cultural Department Prof. Suchismita Mohanty, all the teaching staff, non-teaching staff, students and parents were present in large numbers. 

The program started with the lighting of the lamp. Prof. Pooja Ambole briefed information about the various programs, activities and courses conducted by Kaveri College as well as presented a glimpse of the success achieved by the students of the college in various fields through a PPT presentation. Principal Dr.Ashok Agrawal, in his welcome speech, spoke with great pride that the success and quality of Kaveri College have been proved by its students achieving all-round development and leaving their marks of success in various fields ranging from academics, sports, professional exams to cultural achievements. He highlighted that credibility is an important part of life's journey and Kaveri College has proved its credibility. He also said that college has been successful in achieving its goals by overcoming any adverse situations even during the corona epidemic for the overall development of the students. 

President Mr. Kushal Hegde briefed the audience about the immense contribution made by the Kannada Sangha in the field of education and the successful progress of the Institute through the years. He also praised that Kaveri College has achieved maximum progress in the shortest period of time. He said that The Kaveri Institute always strives for the all-round development of students.

The Chief Guest Mr.Ashok Ramakrishna Jamenis, in his address praised Kaveri College for its readiness in sustainable and holistic development and also appreciated the goals and objectives of the college. While giving special guidance to the students on this occasion, he quoted a line “Aspire to Inspire Before You Expire”. He also emphasized on possessing qualities like consistency, dedication and accuracy to be successful and do something remarkable in life. He also talked about the importance of 'fundamental principles of life'. He explained how the journey of life is all about beginning from depending on others out of necessity to living an independent life and going beyond this, after a certain time, a person goes into traveling towards the journey of interdependence.

He also talked about the need and importance of transformation in one’s life, giving an example of the journey of a charcoal from the coal mine to the all-round diamond and said that this journey should be achieved through culture, education, humility, goals, objectives and self-examination. A man's life should be limited 'policy oriented', making the most of the opportunities he gets. He said that a planned journey based on one's own merits in every work should be 'man-centered', in which man should transform himself and imbibe good qualities. He said that change is very easy to achieve with an optimistic and positive policy. Students should seek their Guru/Mentor by giving respect and dignity to others. He enlightened the students by saying that they should develop interest in life and cultivate it.

The Chief Guest Mr. Abhay Deodhar congratulated the college and all the faculty members on this occasion and said that students should always be committed to increase their credibility in their successful life. To achieve their goals, they should always learn new things and keep themselves up-to-date. He briefly said that everyone should be healthy in their life and make their physical health a priority. 

Students were awarded by the college for their achievements in academic, NSS, cultural as well as inter-college competitions. In addition, the students were honored with some special awards. 'Best Student', 'All-rounder Student', 'Best Sportsman', 'Best Volunteer' and ‘Endowment Prizes’ were given in fond memory of  'Late.Shri.Vishnu Moreshwar Karmarkar' and 'Late. Smt. Sunitha Vishnu Karmarkar’. In addition to this, 'Dr. Shamrao Kalmadi Prize' cash amount Rs.2500/- and Late.Shri Ramesh Khode Scholarship cash amount Rs.11000/- were given as special prizes. Toppers of the college were also felicitated for ranking in the merit list of the university. Other than this, students clearing the CA Final Exam and eight students clearing the CS Final Exam were also felicitated on this occasion. 

Dr. Jayashri Bangali, Dr. Deepa Sathe, Dr. Sayee Kulkarni, Dr. Mukta Karmarkar, Dr. Shweta Bapat were honored for their special work in the field of education. Administrative Superintendent Shri. Ravindra Bhalerao and non-teaching staff Mr. Tushar Parte were felicitated for their outstanding contribution to the college. 

The program was graciously moderated by Prof. Pooja Ambole. Vice Principal Dr. Mukta Karmarkar presented the Vote of Thanks. Teachers, Students, Parents and the non-teaching staff attended the program in huge numbers.
