Kaveri Arts Festival 2021-22

Kaveri Arts Festival 2021-22 was organized and executed at Kannada Sangha Pune’s  Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Pune.

The fest began with an inaugural function on 13th of May. BA Co-Ordinator Ms. Suchismita Mohanty welcomed everyone and briefed about the event. Principal Dr. Ashok Agrawal, in his address, appreciated the enthusiastic presence and participation of students in the Fest. He referred to this day of fest as Food Festival saying that, ‘Poetry Competition is food for thought, Art Therapy is food for Mental Health and Poster Presentation is food for creativity’. He welcomed and felicitated the Judges Ms. Vrushali Deodhar and Ms. Vaishali Chilal, for the event.  He wished the participants all the best and declared the Fest open.

In the Self-Composed Poetry Competition participants presented their beautifully Self-Composed poems which ranged in the themes of love, patriotism, relations, academics, feelings, emotions, as well as satirical poems attacking on follies of society. Everyone did their best in all three languages- Hindi, Marathi and English. Towards the end of performances, Ms.Vaishali  Chillal, shared her observations from the event and expressed immense joy to be a part of this event as a judge. Tuba Khan (TYBA) bagged the first prize and  Renuka Kotharkar (FYBA) won the second prize. 20 participants participated in the competition.

In the event Art Therapy it was all about free flowing drawing with colors, which would help reflect one's state of mind. All the participants drew a picture and were later divided into groups. After which all the groups had to come forward and frame a connected story out of different pictures each individual had. This interesting and creative activity was immensely enjoyed by everyone. In all, 36 participants were part of this activity.

The Poster Presentation Competition was graced by the judge Ms. Manasi Naik. Anuja Prabhune (TYBCom.) bagged the first prize in this competition. 

In an event full of wit and fun- Quiz Competition based on a web series, sheer enthusiasm among participants as well as audience was observed throughout the competition. Team 2 ie: Gayatri Joshi and Saukhya Chitnis from SYBA bagged the first prize of competition, and Team 3 ie:  Shlok Jadhav and Aakanksha Kharwadkar from SYBA won the 2nd prize. 

In the Crossword Competition, the theme of the Competition was ‘General Awareness’. General Awareness involved questions on topics like Indian Economy, Indian Polity, Indian Cinema, Sports & Famous Personalities. In all 14 Students Participated and they were divided into groups of two. Total 5 Crosswords were to be solved by all the participants within 1 hour. 1st prize was bagged by Anuja Prabhune and Shivangi Borwankar, students of TYBCom. 2nd prize was bagged by Sharayu Chitnis and Abhijeet Jangira, students of Fyba and Tybcom respectively.

In an activity on the Incredible Pune, students had to present a certain photo displaying any place of public interest in Pune and had to talk about it. 

The prize distribution was followed by the last, most delicious and most awaited  event of the day and Fest- Food Festival, in which participants had got ready to eat  dishes from home to be presented with themselves dressing up in the attire of the tradition and culture to which the food belongs. Many students participated in this activity and the audience enjoyed tasting the delicacies. Vice Principal- Dr. Muckta Karmarkar, Dr. Jayshri Bangali, Dr. Shweta Bapat motivated students for the events. With this, the two day fest concluded on a happy note.
